Air India+Overweight People=Grounded

12 06 2008

Air India has an interesting approach to maintaining svelte, good looking stewardesses.  The airline is behind a rule that stewardesses’ weight can vary inside a 6.6lb limit.  This maintains a weight-to-height ratio that looks good.  Stewardesses are grounded if they do not follow these rules.  If they want to go back into the air, they go on diets to change their appearances.

i guess it makes sense, as airlines are cutting back on weight and size of everything, but people? can you imagine how devastating this is to those who are asked to leave and go on a diet?
