Eagle Eye topped the box office this weekend with an estimated $29 million. According to Box Office Mojo.com, the DreamWorks / Paramount/ techno-thriller played on a whopping 4,800 screens and handily beat second place Nights in Rodanthe ($14 million).
Eagle Eye marks Shia LaBeouf‘s second number one picture this year, following on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It’s also the second time LaBeouf and director J.D. Caruso teamed up on a box office champ, after working together on 2007’s Disturbia.
